Meet our Staff
Pastor Troy & Julie Smothermon
Pastor Troy and his wife, Julie were married in 1991. They have six children: Tyler and his wife Alicia, Cody and his wife Jacqueline, Garret, Colton, Tucker and Jalen. They are blessed grandparents to one grandson and one granddaughter. Pastor Troy is widely known for his heart to reach lost and hurting people and for boldly following an innovative vision to touch lives. In January 2002, Pastor Troy and his family moved to Roswell to accept the position as Pastor of Church on the Move. The need to heal divisions within the city became immediately evident, and the ministries he has created have been aimed at reaching people across vast economic and social backgrounds. Pastor Troy believes that hope, which only Jesus provides, is the greatest gift we can offer our world, and he works tirelessly to establish God’s hope in the hearts of families throughout Roswell and beyond. His special emphasis on children and youth resulted in the explosive growth of Church on the Move. Pastor Troy’s vision includes many outreach programs, providing the community with family events where the Word of God can be heard and demonstrated.
Julie has had the opportunity to speak to thousands of women in several different venues. Julie is currently leading the Inspire Women’s Ministry and has been the key speaker at this conference since 2003. The grace with which Julie speaks comes from a deep indwelling of Jesus in her life. Her incredible ability to touch the hearts of women from all walks of life is the result of a healthy long marriage and caring for her children.
Together, they host the annual Joy of Marriage Conference, where they share the knowledge and wisdom, they have gained from over three decades of experience being married. They have the desire to help couples go from survival to “thrival” (as Pastor Troy says). They believe that outside of our relationship with God, our relationship with our spouse is easily the most important and most valued in our entire lives.
Pastor Shawn & Monica Kelly
Pastor Shawn has served in the ministry since he was 18 years old. He moved to Roswell in December of 2005. After attending an outreach at Church on the Move and seeing the difference it made on thousands of people’s lives, he knew he wanted to be a part of Church on the Move. Pastor Shawn began to serve at Oneighty, the praise team, and as a deacon. He became a staff member in February of 2007. Pastor Shawn also received his Associates in Business in 2018.
In September 2012 he married his amazing wife Monica. They have a wonderful blended family with three children: Reshea, Johnathan and Aydan, and seven grandchildren. Monica currently serves in helping Pastor Shawn lead the Defenders of the Cross motorcycle ministry.
His calling is to fulfill the desires God has placed in his heart by seeing the body of Christ set the standard for the world, and leading people to Jesus as a result of that. Pastor Shawn believes there is nothing greater than seeing someone give their heart to Christ.
Pastor Tim & Iris Aguilar
Pastor Tim and Iris have been married since 2003 and are proud parents to Madison and Braden. Giving his heart to the Lord in 1987, Pastor Tim served faithfully in every ministry he could. He has lived in Roswell all his life and has a personal desire to see the community change for the cause of Christ. He was ordained in 2003 as our Oneighty Youth Pastor.
Iris is from Lubbock, Texas and began serving in the nurseries until 2008. She now serves alongside Pastor Tim at Oneighty and has been leading the Turn Life Discipleship Class since 2003. She is currently a mentor for the Next Step Class and serves annually at the Crowned Party.
Pastor Tim desires to see the youth influence their families, friends, their city, and nation despite their upbringing, because they understand their identity in Christ and the calling that Jesus has on their life.
Pastor Marco & Renee Dominguez
In 2016, Marco and Renee united their lives and blended their beautiful family. Together, they’ve raised six wonderful children—Anthony, Cyanna, Miliana, Dominic, Kayla, and Mayleen—along with Renee's brother Javian and sister Jnae. Their family continues to grow, with granddaughter Alani bringing joy and another granddaughter on the way!
Marco's journey with Church on the Move began 18 years ago, when he gave his heart to the Lord. He quickly found his calling, serving in children’s ministry with passion and dreaming of one day becoming a children’s pastor.
Renee attended a Big Day outreach event, where she committed her life to Christ. Since then, she has been a dedicated member of Church on the Move, serving alongside Marco in a variety of ministries.
Together, Marco and Renee have embraced opportunities to serve in children’s ministry, prison ministry, post-abortive healing classes, and Mexico missions. They believe that the key to a strong marriage and family lies in serving one another and extending that love to others.
Reed & Stephanie May
Originally from Illinois, Reed moved to Roswell in 1999 at a young age to be closer to extended family. He started attending Church on the Move in 2004 and began his walk with Christ a few years later by serving on the Oneighty Praise and Worship Team. Reed became a full-time staff member in 2011, and currently works as the Praise and Worship Director.
Reed and his wife, Stephanie met at Church on the Move in 2011, got married in 2014, and have two daughters: Isabel and Clara. Stephanie serves at Kids on the Move and serves alongside Reed on the Praise and Worship Team. They both have a heart for seeing people young and old come to know Jesus.
Maria Romero
Maria has been a member of Church on the Move since 2020.. A proud mother of five — Esmeralda, Juan, Savanna, Izabella, and Amelia — Maria sees the beauty and purpose of God's design in each of her children, who bring joy and love to her life every day.
Born and raised in Roswell, Maria is now raising her children here, too. With her heart for family, faith, and service, Maria is excited to continue to impact and inspire others through her work with young children in our nurseries.
Maria has a beautiful passion for guiding children on their spiritual journey. Her background in daycare teaching, along with her commitment to the Children’s Ministry, speaks to her deep care and love for nurturing young hearts. By combining her experience with her mission to instill the joy of Jesus in each child, Maria is helping to shape a foundation of faith that will last a lifetime. Her goal of seeing children leave the Nursery with joy in both their faces and hearts is such a powerful vision for the ministry. She truly embodies the spirit of both teaching and discipleship.
